This connection to the Swiss city will have two weekly flights, on Thursdays and Sundays, will operate until the 25th of March 2016, and will connect the Algarve «to one of the most important metropolitan areas in Europe and to an airport widely used for flights from connection (hub)”, according to ANA Aeroportos.
In all, it is planned to carry out 88 movements, using an Airbus A320 with 180 seats, which represents for the Airport of Faro “a global offer (arrivals and departures) of over 15.840 seats”.
Those traveling from Switzerland will have flights at 14:XNUMX. If you fly from Faro to Zurich, it will be connected at 16:35 pm.
«Our first flight from Zurich to Faro was fully booked in April, and this positive trend continues: Swiss travelers want to fly to the Algarve with Airberlin. We introduced a new winter service from Switzerland to Portugal, and increased the frequency to two flights a week», according to Lucas Ochsner, managing director of Airberlin in Switzerland.
Passengers on the inaugural flight of this route were received, on arrival, by the president of the Algarve Tourism Region Desidério Silva, the president of the Algarve Tourism Association Carlos Luís and the director of the Airport of Faro Alberto Mota Borges.
