Budens' new nursery opened its doors this Monday. The new equipment in the municipality of Vila do Bispo has the capacity to receive 66 children.
The parents were able to visit the space on Friday, and were welcomed by the mayor Adelino Soares, by the councilor for education Rute Silva, by the president of the Administrative Commission of Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo, Maria do Carmo Silva and by team of professionals who will accompany the children.
The building consists of 6 activity rooms, 2 of which are for children aged 1 to 2 years – 2 for children aged 2 to 3 years and 2 nursery rooms.
The use and management of the crèche built on Rua Eiras de Cima, in Budens, is the responsibility of Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo.
Although the protocol between the municipality and Santa Casa da Misericórdia was signed in 2010, the City Council explains that “it is only now possible to open the crèche, as it was necessary, on the one hand, to carry out some interventions to resolve the problem with the lack of access and, on the other hand, obtaining the building's licensing by the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Security».
The Chamber of Vila do Bispo adds that collaboration agreements were signed between Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila do Bispo and the Municipal Council, as well as between Santa Casa da Misericórdia and the Social Security Institute, «which allow support to the families of the council with lower incomes'.
