The Publituris Portugal Travel Awards, already known as the “Oscars of Tourism” in Portugal, will be delivered in Albufeira, tomorrow, September 11th, at 19 pm, at Pine Cliffs.
The initiative is a co-organization between the Publituris newspaper and the Albufeira City Council, has the support of the Algarve Tourism Region and is intended to reward the best companies, institutions, services and professionals in the area of tourism.
Among the many confirmed appearances is Anselmo Ralph, who that day will be in Albufeira to participate in an action to promote the New Year and who will also be present at the Gala.
The initiative, which is now in its 12th edition, includes 17 categories, which include “Best Aviation Company”, “Best Travel Agency Network”, “Best Tour Operator”, “Best Hotel Chain”, “Best Field of Golf”, “Best National Tourism Region” and, this year for the first time, “Institution of Higher Education in Tourism”, “Event of the Year”, Journalism Award “Valorização do Turismo” and “Prémio Carreira Belmiro Santos”.
Among the nominees in the municipality of Albufeira, in the category “Best Hotel Resort”, are the EPIC SANA Algarve Hotel and the Pine Cliffs Resort. Vila Joya was nominated in the “Best Boutique Hotel” category.
Last week, at the World Travel Awards ceremony, which took place in Sardinia, and which considered the Algarve as the best Beach Destination in Europe, Vila Joya and the Sheraton Algarve at Pine Cliffs Resort had been distinguished with the “Boutique” award Hotel” and “Resort for Families”, respectively.
The mayor of Albufeira, Carlos Silva e Sousa, who will be present at the Publituris Portugal Travel Awards ceremony, next Friday, says that he is extremely proud to receive this news, which once again demonstrates that the Algarve and Albufeira, in particular, deserve to be at the top of tourism at national and international level.
“Congratulations are made to the county's businessmen, the entities linked to tourism, the Municipality's employees and the entire population. Without the commitment and motivation of everyone, it would not be possible to reach this level of excellence”, he highlighted.
