Scientific Toy CCV LagosThe scientific toys of the Centro de Ciência Viva de Lagos deserved the Maker of Merit distinction, awarded by the organizers of the Maker Faire Lisbon 2015, which took place at the Pavilion of Knowledge/Ciência Viva, in Parque das Nações, from 18 to 20 September.

Engineers Hélder Ferreira and Júlio Costa from CCVL took to Lisbon several scientific toys built in shoeboxes. «Using their ingenuity and scientific knowledge, they performed experiments in areas as diverse as Electronics (a portable short-circuit laboratory and an arduino-controlled electric motor), Astronomy (moon phases and constellations), Physics (labyrinth and marble machine) and Photography (obscure chamber)», described the CCV of Lagos.

This fair «celebrates the movement of Makers (doers), from 3D printing to the construction of drones, where the objective is to encourage the growth of this community and serve as a meeting point for exchanging experiences, contacts and information».

The toys that earned the distinction to the lacobrigense center «are available in the Educational Offer that the CCVL has prepared for the 2015/16 school year, where the Center will have Maker Workshops for schools». these creations can be seen on the 25th of September, from 21 pm, at the CCV in Lagos, as part of the European Researchers' Night.
