On the 9th and 10th of October, between 10 am and midnight, the Municipal Auditorium of Lagoa will host the first edition of the Algarve Brass Forum, which will have concerts, conferences, jam sessions and an exhibition of instruments.
According to Câmara de Lagoa, which supports the event, this is «an innovative event in Portugal that, produced by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, aims to be a creative meeting point for musicians, professionals or amateurs, students and wind instrument enthusiasts. and music in general».
According to the municipality, the event will bring to Lagoa «some of the best instrumentalists in the country in the area of brass, whether jazz or classical».
In addition to the performance of the Algarve Jazz Orchestra, names from jazz and classical music will be present, such as Sérgio Carolino, guest ambassador for this year's edition, Lars Arens, Hugo Alves, Javier Ortí, Kevin Wauldron, António Saiote, Mário Marques, Luís Cunha, Jorge Queijo.
Students "from the best music schools in the country, who will work in an informal and learning climate" will also be performing at the event.
Lagoa City Council foresees «two full days of great and good music, conversations with musicians, with a place to learn about new trends and explore the diversity of musical instruments through exhibitors and representatives of the world's biggest brands invited to the event ».
