The Free Citizen Candidacy Program/Time to Advance is open to everyone's participation and can receive contributions since last Saturday, on the movement's online page.

Ana Drago, one of the leaders of Livre/Tempo de Advance and number 2 on the list of candidates for deputies for Lisbon, right after leader Rui Tavares, was in Faro on friday night, to participate in the presentation of candidates for the next Legislative Elections, by the circle of the Algarve.

Talking to the Sul Informação at the end of the session, Ana Drago explained that «since the beginning, an invitation was made to specialist and non-specialist citizens, to everyone interested in building a political proposal that would respond to the problems of people's lives and of the country, to who could get involved'.

“There are a number of thematic areas – Culture, Education, Social Security, Debt Restructuring, Employment and Work, among others – and all these issues were worked on, were brought together in a program that has a meaning and a political objective which is to defend the country and forge a new future” and which has now been “put up for public discussion”, he added.

"From now until the beginning of September, people can submit their proposed amendments or new proposals, which are then aggregated and voted on." Everything will be voted on “in a Citizens' Convention that we will have in September and which will close the work of discussion and preparation of the program”.

A proposal is available online, everyone can access and participate, through a specific form.

The theme of Culture in the Program proposal now open to contributions has the particularity of having been coordinated by Anabela Afonso, head of the list of Livre/Tempo de Advance no Algarve.

In the candidates' presentation session, which took place in a restaurant in the center of Faro, Anabela Afonso lived up to her experience in the cultural area and argued that «Culture and its articulation with Education are fundamental areas of investment, for us to be able to progress, to have any perspective for the future».

The list of candidates for the Livre/Tempo de Advance no Algarve, similarly to what happened in the other districts, was chosen by voting by all the citizens who wanted to register, either as pre-candidates or as voters.

Taking into account the recent controversy that involved the lists of candidates from other political forces, Ana Drago made a point of stressing, in her statements to the Sul Informação, that «this candidacy had one merit: it did not impose anyone from Lisbon, who was the head of the list here, nor did it impose the composition of the list».

«It was the Algarve who voted for their list, for people who are from the Algarve, who live in the Algarve, who know the Algarve, and who therefore embody this proposal because they constantly live with the problems of the Algarve».
