Untitled-1Monchique will dedicate a week to young people between August 10th and 16th. Monchique Youth Week will have concerts, exhibitions, shows, mountain biking, Jam Session, DJs, videomapping, sports, competitions and other activities.

The Youth Week begins with a Peddy Paper Nocturne, «whose aim is to provide all participants with a playful moment, a different and educational activity and raise cultural knowledge about the county».

This activity ends with a concert with “A Malta de Monchique” at the Mirante. On this day, the Painting Exhibition by Ana Nobre, «a regional artist, who will present her paintings in wood, which will be exhibited at Espaço Jovem, until the 15th of August, is also inaugurated.

The Drawing Contest is new in this edition. Aimed at young people aged 6 to 16, “the main objective is to value creativity and imagination and encourage the development of skills and practices in artistic expression. It will take place on the 11th, 12th and 14th of August at 16 pm at the Espaço Jovem, thus being divided into 00 phases: 3 qualifiers and the final».

The Mountain Bike Tour “Monchique ao Luar” takes place on August 11 and brings together participants “who set out to discover new trails, with the mountain as a backdrop at night”.

The BMX Water Jump Show” is “a classic of the Youth Week, but it always guarantees a full house”. The jumps into the water are scheduled for the 12th, at the Municipal Swimming Pools.

On the 13th there will be a Stand Up Comedy show with Aldo Lima and Jorge Serafim.

On the night of the 14th, there will be a poetic itinerary to the work of Fernando Pessoa, Amália Rodrigues and the popular Algarve poet António Aleixo, through “Vídeo Maria – Fado e Poesia e Videomapping”, by Artelier? Street Arts Platform.

On August 15, Frankie Chavez takes to the stage, with a concert scheduled for 22 pm, at Parque de S. Sebastião.
