The Portuguese Association for Private Hospitalization (APHP) expressed its satisfaction with the announcement of the imminent launch of an international public tender for the management of the Center for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the South, in São Brás de Alportel, made this week by one of the administrators of the Regional Administration of the Algarve.
«It's no use, at this stage, regretting the current impasse or what motivated it. What matters now is to continue to ensure a future of excellence for this health unit, and this involves, in the first instance, guaranteeing a transparent public tender to grant its management concession», comments Artur Osório Araújo, president of APHP.
This reference to transparency is justified by the association with "the concession, without public tender, of the Rehabilitation Center of the North to Santa Casa da Misericórdia in Porto", a situation that led the representative of the private hospitals to request a meeting "as a matter of urgency" to ARS Algarve.
«The answer to this question never arrived, but APHP welcomes the news in recent days, according to which ARS Algarve, in absolute respect for market laws, seeks to define the best conditions to launch a public tender and, In this way, find an autonomous management model that allows this highly specialized and internationally certified health unit to continue its activity under an administrative regime similar to that which it has had during the last seven years, within the scope of the concession to the Galilei group », considers the APHP.
