Airport Faro_1ANA wants to increase regulated rates at the airport of Faro at 1,02 percent, an increase that is below the national average of 2,93 percent.

On August 1st, the company began the consultation process with a view to updating the regulated rates in its Airport network, at national level, and will accept external contributions for a period of two months.

This process is provided for under the terms of the Law and the Concession Contract of ANA, a company privatized in 2013, and allows for «complete transparency, as well as the participation and involvement of all airlines and other stakeholders».

Once the consultation process is completed, it will be up to the regulator (ANAC) to approve the proposal for regulated rates so that they come into force on 1 January 2016.

Despite raising rates at most of the airports it manages – Madeira is an exception, with a decrease of 1,02 percent – the company believes that this will not interfere with the “very significant” traffic growth that it has registered.

"After a growth of 9,5 percent in 2014, ANA has, in 2015 and to date, an overall growth in commercial passenger traffic of more than 10 percent," according to the company.

This increase in traffic still does not allow, in some cases, to reach the same levels of revenue per passenger as in 2009. This is the case of Faro, where there is a decrease in revenue of 10,11, compared to that year.

At the Airports of the Lisbon Group, which includes the Beja Airport, revenue levels are currently “the same” as in 2009.

ANA Aeroportos also highlighted the investment of 250 million in the development of infrastructure that it is making, whose objective is “to increase the capacity, safety, quality and efficiency of the service provided to airlines”.
