A 38-year-old man was arrested yesterday in Salema, Vila do Bispo, for drug trafficking. The GNR Criminal Investigation Nucleus in Portimão detected a cannabis planting in that location and, after a lookout action, detained the trafficker while he was taking care of the plants.
The operation also seized 56 cannabis plants, which were in two different locations: on a land adjacent to the house and in an annex that functioned as a drug production laboratory.
In this annex, the man «had all the necessary elements for a controlled cultivation of plants, the said division being equipped with amplifiers/current transformers, lamps with reflectors and LED lamps, a ventilation system (fan and tubes), a sprayer, pH meters and controllers, in addition to timers and various fertilizing products, a circumstance that made it possible to carry out the cultivation of these plants throughout the year," said the GNR in a statement.
In addition to the seized plants, measuring between 60 cm and 1,80 meters in height, 1100 grams of dried salting cannabis leaf were also confiscated, «among other objects that reinforce the conviction that the detainee was dedicated to the cultivation of this cannabis. narcotic'.
According to the GNR, "this continues to be the visible result of the operational commitment implemented by this Command in combating this type of crime, with the region presenting favorable and favorable weather conditions for the development of the aforementioned cannabis plants."
The detainee who resided in the place where the plantation was found was presented to the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action of the Public Ministry of Lagos to apply the coercive measures.
