The phasing of the execution of the contract for Qualification and Enhancement of Portinho do Forno, in Carrapateira (Aljezur), which will start on 7 July, was presented to the fishing community yesterday.
The work will cost 305.505 euros, with a 75% share from PROMAR, with the remainder being guaranteed by the share capital of Polis Litoral Sudoeste.
This intervention, which is due to end on December 31 and has been “requested by fishermen for a long time”, includes the creation of a platform for dry parking of vessels, as well as the general repair of the pavement of the access road to the port.
The contract also includes the extension of the existing support wall in gabions, the protection of the access road, regarding the detachment of blocks from the adjacent cliff, the repair of the pavement of the veranda ramp, the replacement of the support wall adhering to the area, which it consists of gabions, which are quite degraded, as well as the purchase of a tractor to haul the vessels.
The Chamber of Aljezur emphasizes that this is "another decisive intervention in our territory, with regard, in this case, to the qualification and enhancement of fishing activity, whose main objective is to create conditions for the enhancement of traditionally based economic activities , linked to the fisheries sector'.
