PSPThe PSP detained a man, on Saturday, at 13:45 pm, in Vila Real de Santo António for injuries and attempted aggression against an agent of the Authority. The 33-year-old foreign man was approached by a civil agent after having performed a dangerous maneuver and reacted violently.

According to the PSP, the arrest resulted from "a traffic violation by the driver of the vehicle where the detainee was following, namely a reversing maneuver at a junction, to which a police officer who was in the civil service, watched and alerted to the offense they were committing'.

Faced with the alert, the man "injured and threatened, trying to attack the Police Officer", who ended up arresting him.

Over the weekend, the PSP detained five more people. In Faro, at 4:45 am on Saturday, a 31-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of 1,77 G/L and on Sunday two more people were arrested in the Algarve capital.

At 18:00 a foreign man was riding a pedal bicycle with a BAC of 2,62 G/L and at 18:45 a 31-year-old driver from a car was caught with a BAC of 1,42 G/L.

In Lagos, at 00:30 am on Sunday, a 67-year-old man refused to be tested for alcohol and was thrown out for disobedience.

In Portimão, at 09:29 am, a 20-year-old man was also arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The young man charged a rate of 1,90 G/L.
