canadairThe forest fire that started this afternoon, at 13:13 pm, in Santana da Serra, municipality of Ourique, is already being fought by two planes, a light helicopter and 151 operational, of which 125 are firefighters.

In addition to the corporations in the Alentejo, the Reinforcement Groups for Fighting Forest Fires in Faro and from Lisbon.

Due to fire and smoke, the IC1 road from Ourique to the South is cut off from traffic.

According to the Civil Protection website, the fire has two fronts, with the firefighters also being supported by 50 vehicles.

Yesterday, at almost the same time (at 13:30 pm), a fire had broken out in a nearby area, also in the forest, in Malhada Formosa, parish of Sabóia (Odemira). This fire was extinguished during the night, after the reinforcement of land resources during the night.
