the beach of Faro hosted this Thursday the 80th meeting of the Adapted Sports Regional Calendar. XNUMX people with various types of disabilities gathered at the Nautical Center to practice sailing, canoeing and surfing.

Most participants were accompanied by institutions that host them, such as the Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Albufeira – Lar São Vicente, Cultural and Social Support Association of Olhão, Apatris 21, Algarve Association of Parents and Friends of Mentally Diminished Children, CMR Sul and EXIST.

According to the organization, “it was a memorable day with many emotions and memories that will prevail for a long time. Many limits were crossed and, above all, the feeling of well-being and joy was a constant».

The technical support was provided by the students of the UALG sport course, by the technicians of the Centro Náutico, Ginásio Clube Naval de Faro and Vela Solidária and also by the therapists of CMR Sul.

The XNUMXth meeting of the Adapted Sports Regional Calendar was co-organized by the association EXISTIR, CMR SUL and Projeto Vela Solidária and had the support of the Municipality of Faro, School of Education and Communication of the University of Algarve, Gym Club Naval de Faro, Continent and Alliance.

The Regional Adapted Sports Calendar aims to promote the regular practice of sport and is the result of a partnership between institutions and associations that promote adapted sports in the Algarve region. This year, the Calendar is coordinated by Associação Teia D'Impulsos, in partnership with the Centro de Rehabilitation do Sul, São Brás de Alportel City Council and the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth.
