burns_reservoirThe Parish Council of Paderne promotes, on Saturday, 9th of May, at 10:00 am, an informational and training session at Monte dos Elois, to present the necessary recommendations for carrying out the burning of agricultural and forest residues in safe conditions.

The session is held in collaboration with the Municipal Civil Protection Service – Forestry Technical Office, Albufeira Volunteer Firefighters and the National Republican Guard, and has the support of ICNF – Institute for Nature and Forest Conservation.

The initiative arose from the need to promote, among the population, a set of good practices that should always be associated with the use of fire in rural areas.

The session's program includes a theoretical and a practical aspect, in order to allow participants to acquire useful information, while having the possibility of watching a demonstration of a burning using cut and stacked leftover exploration waste.

According to information provided by the ICNF, in the last decade, occurrences related to the use of fire correspond to 51% of all occurrences investigated in the Algarve, and in this category of causes, the vast majority (41%) of occurrences resulted of burning of leftovers.
