Museum Night 135Music, astronomy and drawing animated the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Albufeira, as part of the commemorative program of International Museum Day. From Saturday to Monday, kids and adults alike were able to visit the museum at night, observe the sky through a telescope, listen to a children's story, draw city monuments and attend an Islamic music concert.

From May 16th to 18th, the Municipal Museum of Archeology extended its opening hours and hosted a set of activities aimed at all age groups.

On Saturday night, two dozen children took a guided tour of the Museum, heard the story of the Penguin Sebastião and built their own character with cardboard, cutouts and collages.

Then, they went up to the terrace, where they observed the stars through two telescopes, which allowed them to see the planets Jupiter and Venus. At the end of the night, the little ones confessed to having been a “fantastic and very fun” experience.

urban sketchers 1On Sunday, the Museum hosted the “Urban Sketchers Algarve XNUMXst Regional Meeting in Albufeira, which brought together young people from all over the Algarve united by their passion for the design of historic spaces and monuments. This time, the challenge launched was to portray the city of Albufeira.

The program ended last Monday, International Museum Day, with free visits to the museum, a second session of the Urban Sketchers Algarve initiative and an Islamic music concert by Eduardo Ramos, who sang Arabic and Luso-Arabic songs with poems of Al-Mutamid, Ibn Ammar and other poets of Al-Andalus.
