A fire caused material damage in the Southern Maritime Department in Faro, where the Port Authority of the Algarve capital also operates.

According to the District Relief Operations Command, the fire broke out "in a department on the 1st floor" of the building, this Saturday night, but was quickly extinguished by the Sapadores de Faro.

Firefighting was swift and "about ten minutes" was enough to master it. In addition to the firefighters, elements of the PSP and also of the Judiciary Police were sent to the site, which will now carry out the investigation, with a view to investigating the causes of the fire.

Altogether, 16 operatives and 6 vehicles from different forces were at the site.
