The blazing sun this Sunday did not prevent nearly 40 people, including children and adults, from taking inspiration from the Ruins of Milreu to produce art in that place. In the form of sculpture, drawing, collage or mosaic, using materials collected from the beaches of the Algarve, parents and children gave free rein to their creativity, in a day spent in a different way.

The “Creative Day in Milreu” was held in partnership by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and the Associação Amarelarte and was part of the DiVaM al fresco cycle programme.

Nicole Lissy, from Associação Amarelarte, interrupted for a moment the work of creating a mosaic in the temple of the ruins of Milreu, to express the Sul Informação his satisfaction with the way the initiative went.

«It went very well, just as I imagined, with people working, willingly. In the morning, everywhere, people were working in the shade, in small groups. There were very special concepts developed in the family or in a group. The works were inspired by the place and the age he has," he said.

Despite an expected limit of 30 people, «expectations were surpassed and that makes us very happy. We didn't want to turn anyone away and the activity also works very well with larger groups, as was the case».

Nicole Lissy then returned to the small artists to complete a spiral of shells in the temple, which will now be appreciated by visitors to the Roman ruins of Milreu.
