yes paulo serraVisual Arts, Music and Land Art is the triple proposal of the Program for the Dissemination and Valorization of the Monuments of the Algarve (DiVaM), promoted by the Regional Directorate of Culture, for the next weekend, at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Castelo de Loulé and also in the Roman Ruins of Milreu.

Thus, on Saturday, May 16, at 16 pm, the exhibition “Yes”, by Paulo Serra will be inaugurated, at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, near Raposeira (Vila do Bispo).

The work that Paulo Serra exhibits at the Ermida de Guadalupe consists of 12 drawings, 12 circles 82 centimeters in diameter.

Using collage, the artist proposes to carry out a non-linear reading, leaving the spectator with the task of reconnecting, reconstructing the ties of what is discontinuous, fragmented.

“Seeing is being able to be unequal. It is to understand the precept and vocation of things. It is, then, a commitment to reality. In my work, what interests me and worries me greatly is the indeterminate and the discontinuous, because that's where I place myself and decode, only in this way is it possible for me to respond to the demands of the art I contain. Art and the artist and the public in the light of today brings us all a fertile and dense shadow that haunts and frightens”, said Paulo Serra.

It is an exhibition integrated in the cycle "2 or 3 x 7- Visual Arts", in which various artists are invited to intervene temporarily in the hermitage space and to relate with the space, or in the context of assembly or in the conception of the work.

The artists will map the space of the hermitage, and this act of mapping may be cartographic, ethnographic, anthropological, sociological and even poetic.

This cycle is jointly organized by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and Tertúlia- Associação Sócio Cultural de Aljezur.

Loulé CastleAlso on Saturday, at 18 pm, the Castle of Loulé hosts a concert by the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, which proposes an emotional and musical experience of “Good Moments” in the emblematic monuments of the Algarve's historical and architectural heritage.

This concert that opens the cycle will include works by Mozart, Parry and Krommer, performed by the wind quartet of the Orquestra Clássica do Sul.

After Loulé, chamber music will also be sung by other monuments: the Fortress of Sagres and the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, on October 31st and December 5th, respectively.

The DiVaM Outdoors cycle program continues on Sunday, the 17th, with the "Creative Day in Milreu”, taking place in the Roman Ruins of Milreu, from 10:00 am to 16:30 pm.

This is an activity carried out in partnership between the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve and Associação Amarelarte, which proposes an intervention and exploration of the archaeological site for its beautiful Roman mosaics, execution techniques, artists and art history.

No Creative Day in Milreu, it will be possible to explore creative practices, drawing, photography and art in nature, reusing natural materials found on Algarve beaches.

To participate, as a family, you must register for free via email [email protected].
