Hospitality-2Hotel prices in the Algarve have dropped this year compared to the same period in 2014. The Algarve is even, nationally, the only region where prices in April 2015 are lower than last year. Still, compared to last month, staying one night in the region was more expensive.

According to the Trivago Hotel price index, staying one night in the Algarve in April costs, on average, 79 euros, against 81 euros last year. The value of the decline amounts to 2,47%. Portimão is really one of the cheapest cities to stay overnight in Portugal, with an average price of 55€ per night.

Compared to March, prices rose 17,9%, when staying in the region cost an average of €67.

The performance of the Algarve goes against the national trend in which prices rose 7,8 percent compared to last year. In the North, prices increased by 25%, in Madeira 17,8%, in Alentejo 10% and in Lisbon 9,43%.
