A march-race will mark the celebrations of the 25th of April at Praia de Carvoeiro, organized by the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro, which promotes numerous activities throughout the day to celebrate one of the most important dates in the calendar of national holidays.
The march-race is scheduled to gather at 9:00 am, next to Largo da Igreja de Carvoeiro and has two possible modalities: the 4 km or 10 km walk, for those who want to take a pleasant walk or walk, and a 4 km run. kilometers or 10 kilometers, for the most daring and sport lovers.
The departure will be at 09:30 am. Registration is free and can be made via email: [email protected], telephones 282 352 655/282 356 690 or on the same day at the location of the initiative.
Still in Carvoeiro, before the march-race, the “Hastear da Bandeira” ceremony will take place at 8:30 am, at Largo da Praia. In the afternoon, from 15 pm onwards, a tribute to Portuguese music will take place, with traditional games, children's entertainment and workshops for the youngest taking place.
Celebrations in the city of Lagoa
Rua 25 de Abril will be the center of the Freedom Day celebrations in Lagoa. At 9:30 am, several sessions of traditional games, inflatables and children's entertainment begin.
At the same time, through the streets of Lagoa, there will be a street to mark the Day of the Revolution. At 10:00 am, also on Rua 25 de Abril, a pigeon start takes place with the collaboration of Sociedade Columbófila Lagoense and the 2nd Futsal Tournament 25 de Abril begins at the Jacinto Correia Basic School.
The tournament takes place throughout the day and is attended by teams from Portimonense, SC Lagoense, CDR Pedra Mourinha and the host club, AMBM Jacinto Correia.
It will thus be an intense day, full of activities for the population, organized by the Union of Parishes of Lagoa and Carvoeiro, with the support of the City Council.
