The exhibition «The Unknown Known – the coast of Lagoa photographed by João Mariano» opens on Saturday, April 18, at 16:30 pm, at the Portuguese Photography Center, installed by the Porto Court of Appeal.
The show, promoted by the CPF, by the Lagoon Photography Encounters, by the University of Algarve, and by the Municipality of Lagoa, will be shown in this important space until the 28th of June.
The exhibition was produced last year, at the invitation of the 1st Photography Meetings in Lagoa, where it performed in the summer of 2014.
After being exhibited in Mindelo, Cape Verde, within the scope of the Cape Verde International Photography Festival, it has also been shown at the Central Library of the University of Algarve's Campus de Gambelas, in Faro.
This project by renowned photographer João Mariano, of Algarve origin, resulted from months of work capturing images of the coast of Lagoa, by land and by sea, giving rise to a surprising set of black and white photographs, which were open to the public. at the Convento de S. José, in that city, at the opening of the Photography Meetings, in August and September.
