An aperitif of proverbs, followed by a musical feast, with archaeological heritage as an accompaniment. It was with this menu that the Roman Ruins of Milreu, in Estoi, Faro, celebrated the International Day of Monuments and Site, this Saturday.

The archaeological site served as the stage for this initiative by the International Association of Paremiology and the Música XXI cultural association, as part of the Open Door Days of Culture, held within the scope of the program of Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments (DiVaM), under the responsibility of the Regional Directorate of Culture.

On a pleasant spring afternoon, the cultural festival began with the dissemination of proverbs, by the International Association of Paremiology, an entity based in Tavira, which is dedicated to the study and recording of popular sayings from Portugal and other countries.

This was followed by the performance of Al-Fanfare, directed by Albano Neto, with the rhythms of the Mediterranean and the Balkans spreading joy and excitement in the ancient Ruins of Milreu.
