The Municipality of Albufeira joins the Celebrations of the World Dance Day, on April 29, with a show with the participation of Schools and Academies of Dance in the municipality, from 21 pm, in the Municipal Auditorium. Admission is free.
Hundreds of children, young people, adults and, this year for the first time, a senior class will pass on the stage. Fuete – Albufeira Dance Academy, Ferreiras Football Club, Praia da Falésia Sport and Cultural Academy, Fontainhas Sport Youth, SOUL Association, Luel – Arte em Movimento, Guia Futebol Clube and students of the dance class from Municipality of Albufeira “Clube Avô”.
Hip Hop, Tap Dance, Contemporary Dances, Ballroom Dances and Oriental Dances are the predominant modalities of the show which, according to the municipality, «promises to present the public with beauty, rhythm and color, allied to the technical and artistic knowledge of those who make dance their own form of expression".
World Dance Day was instituted by UNESCO's International Dance Committee in 1987, with the aim of commemorating the birth of Jean-George Noverre (April 29, 1727), one of the world's greatest names in dance. Since then, the date has been marked around the world, with a view to celebrating this art and showing its universality.
