The Parliamentary Group of the PCP questioned the Government about the financial situation of Alisuper, which will be, once again, facing problems.

Difficulties in paying the 340 workers and suppliers of this supermarket chain were denounced by the sector's union and have now reached the Assembly of the Republic.

According to the communists, the Union of Commerce, Offices and Services Workers of Portugal revealed that there was “a delay in the payment of wages in February and March, a situation that, according to the company's management, had already been overcome. ».

The problems experienced by Alisuper were admitted by the owner of Grupo Nogueira, José Nogueira, in an interview with the newspaper «Expresso». But, according to the national weekly, the head of Alisuper assured that these problems "are in the process of being resolved and that the viability of the supermarket chain is not in question."

José Nogueira, whose Group acquired Alisuper supermarkets in 2012, took the opportunity to lament the lack of interest shown by the Government in relation to Alisuper's situation. Not least because the agreement that led to the acquisition of the supermarket chain by Grupo Nogueira, for an amount equivalent to the debts the company had to Social Security, banks, suppliers and workers, had the involvement of the Ministry of Economy.

Taking into account this position of the head of Grupo Nogueira, the PCP wants the Government to reveal that it has been monitoring Alisuper's economic situation. At the same time, he wants to know what monitoring is done by the Authority for Working Conditions of the situation of delay in the payment of workers' wages in February and March 2015.

The Alisuper network has 49 stores, the overwhelming majority of which are located in the Algarve (43).
