formation Lagos_1On the 13th of March, the trainees of the Tourism Animation, Heritage and Entrepreneurship course presented their final work, called “Circuito Lagos Cidade Histórica”, which consisted in the realization of a tourist route to make known various places revealing the historical importance of the city. city ​​of Lagos as a former military square and as a city of the Discoveries.

The course was held by Associação Vicentina, within the scope of the Cooperation Agreement signed with the Regional Delegation of the Algarve of the IEFP for the activation of the unemployed through the Vida Ativa measure.

The Active Life measure aims to promote lifelong learning, employability and competitiveness of companies, integrating the unemployed in short and medium duration training actions, capitalized on in professional certification processes.

formation Lagos_2In 2014, this measure covered, in the Algarve region, almost 15 000 unemployed trainees.

With a duration of 250 hours, the course was attended by 25 trainees who, according to the IEFP, «improved their employability, allowing them to develop entrepreneurial skills and acquire knowledge in the context of tourist entertainment related to local heritage» .

Participants in this event, which crossed the historic area of ​​the city, were trainees and trainers involved in the course, as well as Carlos Baía, regional delegate for the Algarve of the IEFP, Aura Fraga, director of the Vicentina Association, Hugo Pereira, vice-president of the City Council of Lagos , councilwoman Maria Fernanda Afonso, Carlos Saúde, president of the Union of Parishes of Lagos , and also the director and deputy director of the Employment and Professional Training Center of Barlavento, Madalena Feu and Álvaro Henrique, respectively, among other entities.
