A giant folar will help raise awareness in the city of Faro for the problem of poverty and to raise funds for CASA – Support Center for the Homeless. The preparation, presentation and tasting of this 50-metre long cake will take place on March 28, at 10 am, in the Mercado Municipal de Faro.
According to CASA, the initiative in partnership with the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Faro, came up with «the aim of continuing to respond to the needs of our growing community of needy users» and, therefore, «prepared for the Easter season a campaign to raise awareness of the issue of poverty and, at the same time, to raise funds. to the local society'.
The event will also have street entertainment by the Al-Fanfar Group and Associação Cultural Policromia.
On the same day, the drawings made by students of the first cycle, pre-primary and kindergartens of the municipality of Faro who, inspired by the theme: “Solidarity”, created cards to decorate the Easter eggs made by Chocolataria Doces e Pecados. According to CASA, "the donations raised will serve to create a fund to help our community of users still of school age."
The event will also have the institutional support of the City Council of Faro and the Municipal Market, and with the sponsorship and participation of several public and private entities.
