The women's national football team won this afternoon a draw against Denmark (2-2), but the result was not enough to leave the last place in Group C of the Algarve Cup. The Portuguese were losing 2-0, but still managed to reach a tie.

The first goal of the game came in the second half by Sanne Troelsgaard and, on 71 minutes, Caroline Rask extended the Nordic advantage.

The first Portuguese goal came from a penalty kick by Dolores Silva, after Laura Luís was knocked down in the Danish area, and the tie was signed by Cláudia Neto, in a perfect free-kick on the edge of the area.

With this result, Portugal finished in the last position of group C and will play in the game to award the 11th/12th places, next Wednesday.

In the other game in the group, France beat Japan 3-1 and qualified for the final, which will be played on Wednesday, against the United States.

In Group A, Germany beat Brazil 3-1 and Sweden thrashed China 3-0. With this result, the Swedish won the group, but on equal points with Germany. Brazil was in third place, with the Chinese occupying the last position.

In Group B, only draws in this third round. The United States drew XNUMX-XNUMX with Iceland but still held the lead. Switzerland – Norway ended with a two-ball tie.
