Eduardo Garcia won the bronze medal in cadets, in the kata category, at the European Juniors, Cadets and Under-21 Karate Championship, which took place in Zurich, Switzerland, last weekend.
Eduardo Garcia, from Clube Karaté de Olhão, lost in the first round to the Turkish Mehmet Ozdemir, but then won the recap against the Italian Daniele Petrillo, the Czech Matteo Tamborlani and the German Morris Tellocke, beating all opponents by the maximum margin of 5 -0.
This was the second European championship in which Eduardo Garcia participated, the first being in the previous edition that took place in Lisbon, in February of last year. This year, the 42nd European Championship of Cadets, Juniors and Under-21 Karate counted with the participation of 924 athletes, from 47 countries, being Portugal represented by 15 practitioners.
