Zoomarine and Vilamoura Marina were the two candidates from the Algarve that won the Publituris Trade Awards'15, in the categories "Best Park/Touristic Entertainment Company" and "Best Marina" respectively, in a ceremony that took place at BTL and which counted with the presence of the Secretary of State for Tourism Adolfo Mesquita Nunes.
In the category "Best Cruise Company", the winner is MSC Cruises, in the category "Best GSA Aviação" the winner is ATR, in the category "Best PCO" the winner is Leading, in the category "Best Events Space" the winner is MEO Arena, in the category “Best Space for Congresses” the winner is the Lisbon Congress Center, in the category “Best Corporate Agency” the winner is Travelstore American Express, in the category “Best Tour Operator Site” the winner is Soltropico.pt, in the category “Best Ecotourism Project” the winner is Pestana Tróia Eco-Resort, in the category “Best Wine Tourism Accommodation” the winner is The Yeatman, in the category “Best Independent Hotel” the winner is Vidago Palace Hotel, in the category “Best Tourism in Space” Rural” the winner is Casas do Côro and in the category “Best Municipality” the winner is the Municipality of Cascais.
Pedro Costa Ferreira, president of APAVT, was considered Personality of the Year by the editors of Publituris. For Carina Monteiro, director of Publituris, “the winner of this award is a well-known face in the sector and the award that is awarded to him today does not only concern the work developed in 2014, but recognizes and rewards all the work developed in the first term of the front of one of the main associations in the sector and which ended in December, being reappointed in the position for another three years. Among the achievements of his direction are the reinforcement of the notoriety of the destination Portugal, the approximation to tourism regions, the negotiation of important dossiers for distribution and the reinforcement of international relations, of which Portugal's winning bid to host the DRV congress in 2015”.
The Publituris Portugal Trade Awards reward the most outstanding personalities and companies in the most varied categories of the sector and, for the first time in its history, 15 awards were given, including Best Cruise Company, Best PCO, Best Events Space , Best Park / Tourist Entertainment Company, Best Space for Congresses, Best Corporate Agency, Best Website Operator and Best Tourism in Rural Areas.
In the awards, the novelty this year was the inclusion of two new categories: Best Ecotourism Project and Best Wine Tourism Accommodation.
