CourseNadadorSalvador_SãoBrásAlportelThe municipality of São Brás de Alportel is going to promote a lifeguard course, which will take place at the Indoor Municipal Swimming Pools between February 10th and March 17th. Registration for the training, which is in its ninth edition, is now open.

The course for young people aged 18 years and over aims to provide participants with the necessary knowledge to carry out surveillance, maritime rescue, rescue and assistance to bathers.

To be accepted on the course, young people must meet the general admission requirements and successfully complete the admission tests and the final exam.

Admission tests take place on February 10th and are decisive for the acceptance of candidates. They include four different tests: swimming 100 meters free in a maximum time of 1'50'', underwater swimming (apnea) in a minimum time of 20'', swimming 25 meters backwards only with leg kicks, picking up two objects at a minimum depth 2 meters without glasses.

The course lasts for 25 days and takes place after working hours. Enrollments can be made at the Indoor Municipal Swimming Pools or at the Captaincy of the Port of Faro.
