The District Command of Faro The PSP will be reinforced with Prevention and Immediate Reaction Teams (EPRI) – patrols made up of police officers traveling on motorcycles.
According to a statement from the PSP District Command, these teams will be a "complementary means to foot and auto patrolling, with a high degree of visibility and ease of movement, characterized by rapid mobility in urban areas and greater effectiveness in combating crime in particular to violent and serious crime”.
The police force considers that «as the Algarve is a region visited annually by thousands of tourists, the EPRI will have an important role in our police response, contributing to the safety of the population and so that the Algarve continues to be a safe destination».
