Five men robbed a petrol station in Portimão yesterday, stealing tobacco, sweets and alcoholic beverages worth 44,80 euros, and fled in a car, followed by a 5-year-old child, daughter of one of the robbers.
The suspects, before fleeing, threatened the store employee when she told them the price to pay.
Given the alert, the group was detained shortly afterwards by the PSP, when it was already at another gas station in the city, refueling.
At this location, when approached by the authorities, the driver of the vehicle refused to pay for the fuel that he had placed in the meantime, in the amount of 54,46 euros.
PSP agents also detected, inside the car, products stolen at the first filling station, and seized them immediately.
After those responsible for the gas stations formalized the criminal complaint, the suspects, aged between 16 and 25 years old, were arrested.
The 5-year-old child, who was the daughter of one of the assailants, was handed over to his mother, after being contacted by the PSP in Portimão.
