The Parish Council of Portimão will offer 550 baskets to needy families in the parish, in a solidarity lunch that will take place on December 18, at 13 pm, in the Fire Department of Portimão.
The initiative is promoted by the Parish Council of Portimão and has the support of entities linked to local commerce that contribute to the supply of food. Serving lunch will be the Portimão scouts and several volunteers.
According to a note from the Parish Council of Portimão, "the number of unemployed families has been increasing and there are more and more requests for help from institutions, for this reason we have come to respond to this social problem and make the Christmas season happy."
