Choir from the University of Algarve and Orquestra Clássica do Sul perform in Finisterre algarvia

guadalupe hermitage4The Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, in Raposeira (Vila do Bispo), and the Fortress of Sagres, two emblematic national monuments in the Algarve, will stage two musical events, on Saturday, 6 December.

Em stage, will be the Choir of the University of Algarve and the Orquestra Clássica do Sul, in what will be the last concerts of the cycles held in various national monuments in the Algarve region, within the scope of the DiVaM-Dynamization and Valorization program of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

So, at 15 pm, you will have to go to “Listen to the Voices of Heritage”, at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, with the Choir of the University of Algarve.

Under the artistic direction of conductor Ivelina Kavrakova-Pereira and piano accompaniment by teacher Raquel Correia, the choristers will sing timeless pieces by various classical and contemporary composers, from classical to traditional Portuguese music.

Fortress-de-SagresAt 17:00, it will be the turn of the renewed auditorium of the Fortaleza de Sagres to receive chamber music with the Orquestra Clássica do Sul.

This last concert of the cycle will be dedicated to the Septet in E-flat Major, Op.20 by Ludwig van Beethoven, and interpreted by the string and wind grouping formed by Pedro Nuno (clarinet), Todd Sheldrick (horn), Joaquim Moita (bassoon), Emil Chitakov (violin), Ângela Silva (viola), Mikhail Shumov (cello) and Jean-Christian Houde (double bass).

Before the concert, a historical commentary on the monument by Conceição Barão, superior technician at DRCAlgarve.
