The VII Festival of Organ Faro 2014 continues on Saturday, November 15, at 21 pm, at Igreja da Sé with organist Rui Soares. This concert has the special support of the INATEL Foundation.
In a concert program of high technical demand, Italian, Dutch and German compositions will be presented, with emphasis on works from the Baroque period by Buxtehude and Bach.
Rui Soares has a degree in Sacred Music from Escola das Artes – Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where he completed the Organ course with 20 points.
In 2012, he completed his Master's degree in ancient music at the Amsterdam Conservatory. He regularly studies with Prof. Ton Koopman.
In addition to numerous concerts in Portugal, he has performed in Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and Holland. He is organist at the Church of Senhora da Conceição, in Porto.
The VII Organ Festival – Faro 2014 is co-organized by Associação Cultural Música XXI and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Faro, the INATEL Foundation, ALGAR, the Hotel Faro and the Algarve Tourism Region.
