António Costa, who this Saturday was elected General Secretary of the Socialist Party, obtained from AlgaAntonio Costarve a vote slightly below that achieved at national level.

Thus, according to official PS data that the Sul Informação had access, Costa obtained 95,5% of the votes cast by the Algarve's socialist militants in the direct elections for the party's leadership, against 96% at the national level. It was, even so, a very expressive vote on the one who was the only candidate.

In the election that took place on Friday and Saturday, in the Algarve António Costa obtained full votes (100%) in the sections of Albufeira, Alcoutim, Castro Marim, Lagoa, Almancil, Loulé, Quarteira, São Brás de Alportel, Sagres and Vila do Bishop.

The lowest vote was obtained in Aljezur, with Costa receiving only 80% of the votes. The remaining 20% ​​were blank votes. Already in September, but primary elections for the socialist candidate for Prime Minister, Aljezur was the only Municipality in the Algarve where António José Seguro had won, against Costa, obtaining 54,9% of the votes.

The votes were also not unanimous in Lagos (90% for Costa), São Bartolomeu de Messines (90,9%), Portimão (93%), Tavira (93,6%), Monchique (95,2%), Faro (95,4%), Vila Real de Santo António (96%), Silves (96,5%), and Olhão (97,2%).
