FNAC will open a store at Forum Algarve, in Faro, next Friday. The multinational carries out its long-announced expansion to the Algarve capital and now has two stores in the Algarve, after having established itself in Guia several years ago.
The store is located on the ground floor of the Faro shopping center and will have a dimension of 1435 square meters, in line with the last stores of the brand that were opened in Portugal. “It's not the biggest, but it's not the smallest either. It is bigger than the one that opened more recently, in Setúbal», illustrated a FNAC spokeswoman to the Sul Informação.
In all, 55 jobs will be created, with an investment of more than 3 million euros that the multinational made in Faro.
The official opening, for guests only, is scheduled for the evening of Thursday, the 27th, and will be attended by the musician António Zambujo and the writer Sandro William Junqueira, who will be the godfathers of this store, the 21st of the brand to open in Portugal.
Also present will be FNAC's director of communication and marketing Pedro Mata, who will present the new skills that the company «intends to create in the area of culture», with the installation in Faro, and «possible partnerships with institutions in the region for the promotion of Portuguese musicians, writers and artists».
For now, the FNAC says that, on the opening day, November 28, there will be a special promotion of “15 percent card on all products”. In addition, the cultural program has already been outlined from the opening day until December 21, which will be brought to the FNAC store in Faro Deolinda, Nuno Markl, Luísa Sobral and Legendary Tiger Man, among others.
Forum Algarve even had a store of the group, a FNAC Service (more focused on technical assistance and customer support), but it was not active for long. Even so, the possibility of installing, in Faro, a brand store, with all the aspects.
Over time, several hypotheses have been considered, but the first time that the installation in Faro was formally announced at the time when discussions began on an expansion project for Forum Algarve, in 2009. The opening of the store in this shopping centre, but integrated into the original structure (the expansion has not yet advanced), becomes, now, reality.
