The 43-year-old suspect in this attempted murder was located and detained in Lourinhã, where he had moved after committing the crime.

The facts of which he is accused date back to June 2, 2014. On that day, the man "encouraged the victim, with whom he had lived together for about two years, to a dinner."

'After dinner, in continuation of the plan he had drawn up, he asked the victim for a ride to another place, where, after assaulting her, he told her he was going to kill her, dousing her with gasoline from a container he carried with him and lighting him. fire”, describes the Judiciary Police, in a statement. The woman managed to flee before the man, a construction worker, consummated the threat.

The investigation that followed, which allowed the man to be located in the center of the country, was carried out by the PJ's Department of Criminal Investigation of Portimão. The detainee will be present at the first judicial interrogation to find out what coercive measures will be applied to him.
