Nuno Manjua_SEP AlgarveWell over half of the nurses working in the Algarve went on strike this Friday, the day on which the second day of stoppage, within a week, of these health professionals was fulfilled.

Second revealed to Sul Informação the coordinator of the Algarve delegation of the Portuguese Nurses Union (SEP) Nuno Manjua «the adhesion to the strike in the Algarve increased, compared to last Friday», affecting, above all, hospitals, but also some health centres.

In hospitals, adherence was above 60 percent, especially in Portimão, where the average was above 80 percent, and there were several health centers that saw almost all nurses stop.

According to data from the SEP/Algarve, the nurses working in the afternoon at the three units of the Centro Hospitalar do Algarve followed the trend of those in the morning and morning. In Faro, adhesion was, in this turn, of 70 percent, in Portimão it reached 80 percent and, in Lagos, 60 percentage points.

In the two previous shifts, the ones in the morning and in the morning, the adhesion was, respectively, of 66 and 64 percent, in Faro, 94 and 78 percent, in Portimão and 50 and 73 percent, in Lagos.

In health centres, the union highlighted 90% participation in Quarteira, 80% in São Brás de Alportel, 75% in Lagos and 70% in Tavira.
