Pavel ernýThe Organ Festival of Faro closes next Saturday with an international guest, the Czech organist, pedagogue and organologist Pavel Černý, who will perform at the Cathedral of Faroat 21 pm.

The concert will showcase some of European music from the time of Habsburg rulers and is offered by the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Faro.

Pavel Černý graduated from the Conservatory and Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and is a regular on stages in the Czech Republic. It operates frequently in other European countries, USA, Japan, Brazil, Africa and Cuba.

He is a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and at Janáček (Brno), member of the jury in national and international competitions and artistic consultant for organ festivals.

Won organ competitions in Slovenia and the Czech Republic. He has made recordings for radio and television and his CDs have received international critical acclaim. Author of radio series on organ, he participates in specialized commissions dedicated to the construction, restoration and documentation of organs, publishing articles in the specialized press.

The show that will star in Faro it will be the last of the five that made up the 7th edition of this festival, co-organized by Associação Cultural Música XXI and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.

Since the beginning of November, and always on Saturdays, the young André Bandeira, the duo formed by the organist Daniel Ribeiro and the oboist Teresa Ramos, and the organists Rui Soares and José Carlos Araújo, performed at the Igreja do Carmo and Sé Cathedral.

The VII Organ Festival – Faro 2014 is co-organized by Música XXI and has as partners the Municipality of Faro, the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Faro, the INATEL Foundation, ALGAR, the Hotel Faro and the Algarve Tourism Region.
