The Algarve Tourism Region will be at the first «Sea Algarve Expo», which will take place from October 9th to 11th at Portimão Arena, to promote the region as a tourist destination.
In this event, which will have as its central theme "The Cluster of the Sea", RTA will have a stand dedicated, above all, to the "Sun and Sea product, which continues to be the most important for the tourist destination, representing 88 percent of motivations of foreign tourists seeking the region».
The event, organized by Maralgarve – Association for the Promotion of Knowledge and the Economy of the Sea in the Algarve, will bring together various companies and public bodies linked to the sea.
O program includes seminars, workshops, show cooking organized by the Algarve Hotel and Tourism School, exhibitions, entertainment and taverns. Admission is free.
«The Algarve is traditionally associated with the sea and maritime activities and that is why we want to take advantage of our participation in this event to promote the sea as an excellent resource for the region throughout the year. Recreational boating and maritime tourism (cruises) are under development in the destination and are a good complement to the Sun and Sea product», considered the president of RTA Desidério Silva.
The organization's stand will have informative material to distribute to visitors, which should be around six thousand people in the three days of the event, according to estimates by the organization. Desidério Silva will also be present, as a speaker, at the panel «The economic impact of maritime-tourism activities in the Algarve, a promotion model and critical success factors», taking place on the 10th, within the scope of the event.
The «Mar Algarve Expo» will open, over the three days, between 10 am and 21 pm.
