Six young people who at the end of this Sunday morning were isolated by the rising tide in a rocky area near Cape Sines were rescued by a Portuguese Air Force EH-101 helicopter.
The request for help was received by the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisbon) at 11:08 am, via CODU Lisbon.
Due to the sea conditions that were felt at the site and the high risk for lifeboats, MRCC Lisboa sent the helicopter to the site, which recovered the young people and transported them to the heliport of the Administration of the Port of Sines, where landed around 12:35.
The young people were assisted by the INEM team who were waiting at the helipad, with no need for transport to the hospital.
