The Sotavento Coastal Action Group (GAC) has opened a new period for accepting applications, which will run until October 31st.
In all, around 642 euros are available, from the European Fisheries Fund, to support projects that contribute to the sustainable development of fishing zones in the Sotavento do Algarve area.
"The actions to be supported are related to strengthening the competitiveness of fishing areas and valuing products, diversifying and restructuring economic and social activities and promoting and enhancing the quality of the coastal environment and communities", revealed the Chamber of Olhão, that coordinates this GAC.

The Sotavento GAC is, according to the mayor of Olhão António Pina, the one achieving the highest levels of execution across the country.
