A concert by the young organist André Bandeira, on the keyboards, pedals and organ registers of Igreja do Carmo, opens on Saturday, November 1st, the VII Organ Festival Faro 2014.
André Bandeira began his training at the Sacred Music Course of the Diocese of Porto and later at the Conservatory of Music in Porto. In 2008, he completed a degree in Music at the University of Aveiro, finishing with the highest classification in the discipline of Organ.
In 2013, he completed a Masters in Performance, with the highest classification in the Final Recital. He also had the opportunity to do an Organ Masterclass with renowned international organists.
As a soloist, he has performed concerts throughout the North and Center of the country. Since 2010, he has been a professor of Organ, Accompaniment and Improvisation at the Conservatório de Música do Porto. He is organist at the Church of Cedofeita (Porto).
O VII Organ Festival Faro 2014 is co-organized by Associação Cultural Música XXI and the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, in partnership with the Municipality of Faro, the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Faro, the Inatel Foundation, Algar, the Hotel Faro and the Algarve Tourism Region.
