Paderne Castle is the stage chosen to carry out the “Visiting History” initiative, which will feature “workshops, lots of music, stories, legends, poems and other surprises”.
The event, organized by the Sociedade Musical e Recreio Popular de Paderne, starts at 14:30 pm.
In addition to visiting the monument that hosts the initiative, where the ruins of the Ermida, the Cistern and the Albarrã Tower stand out, visitors will have the opportunity to watch a show «consisting of various forms of art starring the different aspects of the Musical Society and Popular Recreation of Paderne».
This castle was conquered from the Moors by D. Paio Peres Correia, probably in the year 1242, and is one of the castles that figure in the National Flag.
The event is part of the project “Stimulation and Valorization of Monuments”, of the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, in a perspective of valorization of the local heritage, and has the support of the Municipality of Albufeira.
