Lecture_ LagosThe monitoring committee of the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) of Lagos, chaired by the CCDR Algarve, issued an "overall favorable decision" on the proposal to resume the plan, the procedure for which is nearing completion.

At the meeting held in Lagos, on the 27th of August, the members of the monitoring committee also spoke in favor of the plan's environmental report and the delimitation of the National Agricultural Reserve.

Although in a favorable sense, the opinion of the monitoring committee “does not exempt the local authority from complying with the mandatory constraints arising from the sectoral opinions of the different entities that sit on the committee”, underlines the CCDR in a press release.

Even before being assessed by the Municipal Assembly, the Lagos PDM proposal, accompanied by the final opinion of the monitoring committee, the environmental report and the results of any consultation meetings that may be held, will be submitted for consideration by all interested parties within the scope of the designated period of public discussion. The opening decision is a competence of the Municipality of Lagos.

The Lagos PDM was one of the first to be approved, in the 90s, but had been suspended by court order since 2002.
