Casa do Povo do Azinhal, in partnership with the Azinhal Folklore Ranch, will be hosting the 19th edition of the Azinhal Folklore Festival on July 21, starting at 00 pm at the Centro Multiusos in that parish in northeastern Algarve.
For several hours, marking the two decades of existence of the festival, some of the best groups of Portuguese folklore will be on stage: the Rancho Folclórico Ceifeiras e Campinos da Azambuja, the Rancho Folclórica Flor do Alto Alentejo de Évora, the Rancho Folclórica de Penha Garcia of Idanha-a-Nova and the Quelfes Ethnographic Group “Dança dos Velhos” from Olhão.
These groups will show the dances, singing and musical instruments, costumes and adornments, as well as the customs, customs and traditions typical of their regions.
The opening of this demonstration of popular traditional art will be in charge of the Rancho Folclórico do Azinhal, which will welcome the participating ranches, providing good moments of folklore and ethnography to the spectators who, on this July night, travel to the village of Azinhal, so known for bobbin lace lace makers.
The XX Folklore Festival of Azinhal is organized by the Casa do Povo do Azinhal and the Rancho Folclórico do Azinhal and has the support of the Municipality of Castro Marim and the local Parish Council.
