The aim is to “enable the use of free time for young people during the summer school break and to promote the opening of the city's churches,” according to the Tavirense autarchy.

In the coming weeks, visits will be made to the parish churches of Santiago, Church of the former Convent of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda (or São Paulo), Church of the Third Order of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, Hermitage of São Sebastião, Ermida de Santa Ana, Chapel of Our Lady of Mercy, Chapel of Our Lady of Consolation, Mother Church of Santa Maria do Castelo, Church of Our Lady of Livramento, Church of OSF (known as Church of the Venerable Order of São Francisco), Church of São José, Church da Misericórdia and the Church of the Former Convent of Santo António dos Capuchos.

The temples will be open from Monday to Friday, from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm and from 14:30 pm to 18:17 pm, with the exception of the Parish Church of Santa Maria do Castelo which closes at 30:XNUMX pm and the Chapels of Santa Ana and São Sebastião, open accordingly with the opening hours of the Municipal Museum of Tavira, being closed on Mondays.

“The “Tavira – Active Holidays” aims to promote direct contact of young people with active life, instilling in them civic values ​​and responsibilities, as well as improving their knowledge of reality, particularly in its historical, cultural and social aspects,” he added the Chamber of Tavira.

The Municipality's partners are the Parish Church of Santa Maria do Castelo, Parish Church of Santiago, Third Order of Our Lady of Monte do Carmo, Secular Franciscan Order of Tavira (OFS) and Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Tavira.
