Book Fair Faro 2014The Book Fair of Faro started this Friday and, in addition to literature for all tastes, it will bring some reference authors to the Algarve capital until the 3rd of August. The 38th edition of the event takes place, as usual, in Jardim Manuel Bívar, next to Doca de Faro and counts with the presence of 12 exhibitors, national and local, whose stands can be visited between 20 and 24 hours.

The exhibitors present are: Sagres Stationery and Bookstore; Bertrand Bookstore; Editorial Print; Europe-America Publications; Piaget Editions; Leya in the Patio; Courtyard of Letters; Lusodidact; Athenaeum Books; Words & Rhymes; Bookstore Martinho and Atelier de Letras.

As is tradition, the fair will feature several well-known authors, including in 2014 Nuno Júdice, who will be present at the fair on Tuesday, July 29, and Lídia Jorge, who will be in Faro on August 2nd. There are also daily sessions with recognized authors scheduled. Yesterday, Farense Fernando Silva Grade presented his book «The Algarve as we destroy it» (see full program below).

The fair will also provide theater for the youngest, in partnership with ACTA –The Algarve Theater Company, which will be present in Baixa de Faro with the VATe bus, every day, where a theatrical play will be performed and shadow workshops will be promoted.

«In this 38th edition we also added a lounge and leisure area where we have the participation of the About Wine workshop, which will be present from 21 pm to midnight, with a pedagogical role regarding Portuguese wines. They allow visitors to the fair the opportunity to taste a type of wine of a particular variety or region of the country and provide information on everything that underlies that wine», added the Chamber of Faro.
